Position Summary

ITW Global Motion is seeking for a Global Innovation/Engineering Manager responsible for shaping, executing & growing our Automotive Product Portfolio, with a focus on growth while optimizing market position and financial returns, consistent with Products Strategy linked to the Motion strategic intent. The candidate will lead and support the effort of developing the business, portfolio strategy and product marketing, and overseeing its execution to maximize the value generation throughout the responsible product life cycle revitalizing the patent coverage supported by the Customer Back Innovation Process. This position is the link between Innovation and Engineering to work closely together within the Sales Team to industrialized minor/major CBIs. The Global Innovation/Engineering Manager reports directly to the Global Business Unit Manager Motion and requires travel up to 40% of the time.

Develop the vision and strategy – long-term Growth and Profitability

• Definition and Execution of the Product Strategy and Market Segmentation to develop segment-specific strategies, defines: “Where to play.”
• Identifies and articulates market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, VoC, industry trends, and full competitive landscape competitors, IP, market, and technology trends). Defines: "How to win"

Strategy Execution

• Lead execution of Product Growth, Profitability and other Targets as defined in plan (AP, LRP)
• Prepares Business case / Presentation/CapEx for Project approvals.
• Owns CBI farmwork within the transition of the APQP phase.
• Initiates innovative product ideas by scientific methodologies within the team by scientific methodologies.
• Establish pipeline for CBI products within a balanced score between major/minor and grow/defend within the goal to support the enterprise strategy of >3% CBI Yield beyond LRP.

Support Expectations

• Actively drives program management for innovation and engineering projects.
• Lead Innovation based on the CBI framework and link within the engineering based of the APQP gates.
• Attend to customer meetings with the Sales Team to understand customer pain points and support the current developments.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of product management experience. Ideally understands the ITW CBI framework and has had exposure to it.
• Hands-on, Entrepreneurship mentality: Proactive, self-motivated, out-of-the-box mindset and strong analytical skills (data-driven)
• Experience in consolidating data, analyzing, and articulating findings in a succinct and impactful way.
• Very good technical and commercial understanding
• Business fluent English language skills (written and spoken), German preferred.
• Home Room Roettingen (EU) for proximity towards other departments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as ability to engage effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must have a desire to travel as required.
